Course Objectives

Attending this one day course will enable attendees to fully utilise the often undiscovered or misunderstood analytical tools that lie within this truly integrated package. The topics covered on this course fall into the following four areas: 1) Extensive sensitivity analysis, 2) Easily created but extremely informative statistical analysis, 3) Advanced file operations and 4) Advanced macro writing.

To ensure that full benefit is gained from the course, attendees should make sure that they are familiar with all the topics covered on the "Intermediate Lotus 1-2-3" course.

Course Contents

Carrying out advanced sensitivity analysis using the What-If Table 2 Variables and 3 Variables commands.

Utilising the Database Statistical Functions to numerically analyse groups of data.

Creating Cross Tabulation reports using 1) The Tools Database Crosstab command and 2) Database Statistical Functions in What-If Tables. An introduction to the Range, Analyze, Solver command.

Using the Range, Analyze, Backsolver command.

Creating different versions and scenarios within a single file via the Range Version command.

Combining a number of files into one.

Importing ASCII or text files into the worksheet.

Parsing unstructured ASCII files within the worksheet.

Assigning macros to SmartIcons.

Creating auto-execute macros and auto-load files.

Creating macro generated menu systems to automate complex procedures in a user friendly manner.
